District of Koraput is conspicuous for its backwardness. With a predominately backward and tribal population the development of education is one of the basic needs of this area. With an ever growing population of conglomerate nature and being the premier town of the district . Jeypore needs the services of a School which will cater to the needs of all and sundry and people belonging to all communities and all shades of opinion. Keeping this objective in view the Modern English School saw the light of the day on 1^st June 1989. Its Principal aim is to dispel the wrong notion and belief that English School education is beyond the reach of an average dweller.
